Qualification: PhD in Cancer Biology / Molecular Biology / Life Sciences

The Jubilee Centre for Medical Research (JCMR) invites applications from highly motivated PhD candidates to join our expanding research program in Cancer Biology. We are seeking talented researchers interested in understanding the molecular basis of cancer progression, genomic instability, and DNA damage response, with the goal of developing new translational insights for cancer therapy.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant, multidisciplinary research environment, collaborating with scientists and clinicians.

Research Responsibilities

The selected candidate will lead and execute experimental studies involving:

Mammalian cell culture systems, including cancer cell lines and primary cells

Investigation of DNA damage response and genomic instability mechanisms through comet assay and micronucleus assay

Functional assays to study cancer progression and treatment responses

Genomic instability assays such as comet assay and micronucleus assay.

Core molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, qRT-PCR and gene expression analysis, Western blotting and protein characterization, Immunofluorescence and cellular imaging.

The candidate will also participate in omics-based research programs including transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, in collaboration with institutional core facilities and interdisciplinary research teams.

Desired Profile

We are looking for candidates who:

Have a strong publication record and research background in cancer biology or molecular cell biology

Possess extensive hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques

Demonstrate the ability to design experiments, analyze complex datasets, and communicate research findings effectively

Are enthusiastic about working in collaborative and translational research programs
