Professor C. B. Devanand is a distinguished veterinary surgeon and academic who retired as Professor and University Head from the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), Mannuthy. With over three decades of experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice, he has held several leadership positions, including Head of University Veterinary Hospital and Director of Surgical Animal Modelling. He currently serves as Head of the Small Animal Research Facility at Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, Thrissur, and works as a consultant surgeon in small animal practice.


An accomplished researcher, he has published 86 research papers, guided postgraduate and doctoral students, and completed multiple research projects in veterinary surgery and radiology. His contributions have been recognized through several national awards, including gold medals from the Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery. He actively contributes to animal ethics and research governance as a nominee to Institutional Animal Ethics Committees and as Member Secretary of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee and Institutional Animal Research Committee at Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute.
